Professional FAQ

This section gathers the most frequent questions regarding treatments, products, maintenance, and resources available in your Professional Area.

Applications and techniques

Is hair Botox a straightening treatment?

No. Hair Botox is primarily a restorative treatment. It helps improve hair quality, reduce frizz, and provide softness, shine, and flexibility, but it is not designed to straighten hair.

How often can hair Botox be done?

As a treatment course, it can be done approximately once a month for a maximum of six months. Subsequently, it can be recommended as needed or with seasonal changes.

Is Nanoplastia a relaxer?

No. Nanoplastia helps to relax hair, reduce frizz, facilitate blow-drying, and create a barrier against humidity. It does not completely change the nature of the hair.

Should I shake the Nanoplastia bottle before use?

Yes. It is very important to shake the bottle well for at least 30 seconds before each use to ensure proper distribution of ingredients.

How to achieve a straighter result with Nanoplastia?

To achieve the straightest possible result that Nanoplastia can offer, slightly reduce the thickness of the hair sections and perform approximately 3 to 4 additional flat iron passes per section.

The more product I use, the better the results will be?

No. Once the hair is sufficiently saturated, adding too much product does not improve results. Excess product can make drying more difficult and hinder the sealing of the treatment.

What to do if there is too much product left after combing?

You can remove the excess with a small towel before drying.

How long do the results last?

Results generally last between 3 and 6 months. The duration varies depending on the hair, home care, and the client's habits.

Can a SteamPod be used?

No. We do not recommend using a SteamPod for hair Botox or Nanoplastia, as the steam prevents proper sealing of the cuticles and can negatively affect results.

Before treatment

Should I stop using oils before a treatment?

Yes. We recommend avoiding oils and reparative masks for about two weeks before a hair Botox or Nanoplastia.

Why is it important to mention this during consultation?

Because oils and some restorative treatments can create a barrier on the hair and hinder the penetration of the treatment. It is therefore important to discuss this with your client before their appointment.

Which clarifying shampoo should I use?

We recommend Squeaky Clean clarifying shampoo, designed to prepare hair before XOX BY SO professional treatments.

Can white or salt-and-pepper hair be more resistant?

Yes. For white or salt-and-pepper hair, we often recommend performing two clarifying shampoos before treatment to help maximize results.

Coloring, bleaching, and treatments

Can Nanoplastia be done on bleached hair?

Yes. However, we recommend waiting approximately 10 days after bleaching before performing Nanoplastia.

Can hair be colored after a treatment?

Yes. However, hair must have been washed after the treatment before proceeding with coloring.

Can bleaching be done after Botox or Nanoplastia?

Bleaching performed after hair Botox or Nanoplastia can diminish or remove part of the treatment's effects. Whenever possible, we recommend performing bleaching before the treatment.

Post-treatment care

When can the client wash their hair after treatment?

We generally recommend waiting between 24 and 48 hours before the first wash.

Which shampoos do you recommend after treatments?

We recommend sulfate-free shampoos to help extend the treatment results.

When to recommend Glow & Go?

Glow & Go is ideal approximately one month after hair Botox or Nanoplastia to help maintain results, improve hair quality, and prolong the beauty of the treatment.
